I just need to talk about this. It’s honestly one of my favorite songs he’s ever written. Which is saying a lot since I can barely keep an album my favorite for more than a day because he’s so amazing.

This song was written as his suicide note. He was going to give up, to end his life. And the fact that even in his lowest moment he could produce something so beautiful…it’s just inspiring. And heartbreaking. If you listen to what he’s saying in this song…it hurts to know the person I idolize and look up to was in so much pain.

I can’t explain how glad I am that he was saved, because in all honesty, he’s saved my life. No matter how low I was if I turned on one of his albums he would pull me just above the water, so I wasn’t drowning anymore.

Billy Joel is the most talented artist in the entire world. He is a gifted pianist, a brilliant composer, a lyrical master, and he has the voice of an angel. I can’t comprehend what my life would have been like if he’d succeeded in what he was trying to accomplish.

I am such a huge fan of his and his music means the world to me. I wear a ring with music notes on my ring finger to symbolize his significance in my life. He has done so much for me and I just wanted to get this down.
